US Jazz pianist Mulgrew Miller has passed away at the age of 57, following a stroke. He will be sorely missed by jazz fans globally. Tributes have flooded social media sites since news of Mulgrew Miller's passing. The pianist was loved as a soloist, sideman and educator and is remembered for his generosity and humble nature. Miller's career took off from the early 1980s, working with the likes of Art Blakey, Ron Carter, Betty carter, Woody Shaw, Freddie Hubbard and Kenny Garrett. He released some 16 albums as a leader and worked on dozens of other records with the best in the business. He was the director of Jazz Studies at William Paterson University, New Jersey.
