Otto Link Metallmunstück Tenor Bahn +/-14 gesucht

Hallo noch einmal,

für einen Kunden suche ich ein "OPRIGINALES" Otto Link Metallmundstück der Größe +/-14.
Es soll kein "refaced" sein sondern entweder ein bezahlbares Vintage (er sagte das gab es mal) oder eines direkt vom Hersteller.

Maik,
verstehst du unter +/- 14 eine Bahnöffnung von 14 ?! Wer will denn so ein Mörderteil spielen? Ich glaube Watts spielt so eine Öffnung. Und so was soll es dann als non-refaced vintage geben? Das gibt es nicht. Die alten Mundstücke gibt es nur mit kleinen Bahnen. Es sei denn, irgendein Spieler aus der Zeit wollte von Link so ein Mundstück als Auftragsarbeit haben. Wenn es sowas geben sollte, dürfte das als Sammlerstück ziemlich unbezahlbar sein. Ich habe vor einiger Zeit einen Text aus dem Netz abgefischt. Autor ist ein in den USA sehr bekanntler MPC-Experte.

"Otto Link Metal Mouthpieces
[I get so many requests for these that I wanted to present some
information regarding their history and what actually IS available. I
hope that this is helpful to all of you Linkheads!]

There are several vintages of the Otto Link Metal mouthpieces which you
will find.
The early ones were marked Otto Link New York and they did NOT have the
characteristic ridge on the top of the mouthpiece. These are also a
shorter "blank" (the term used for the basic mold and its dimensions of
the mouthpiece) than the later ones. These were manufactured through the
1930's and were available in #3, 3*, 4, 4* or 5 facings.
In the 1940's Link introduced the Tonemaster metal mouthpieces
which had the characteristic metal "ridge" on the top of the mouthpiece.
The idea for this ridge was that it would hold the ligature firm so that
it would not move or slip around the mouthpiece.
This was the original Tonemaster design which has been maintained to this
day (with slight modifications) These mouthpieces were slightly longer
than the earlier models and had a large chamber. They were also stamped
Otto Link New York. These were also ONLY made in 4,4*,5 &5* facings. THEY
WERE NOT MADE IN ANYTHING MORE OPEN THAN A 5*!!! I say this because I
always get requests for New York Link metal mouthpieces in a 7,7* or 8...
facing ORIGINAL New York. They do not exist!
The one exception was that Link made a few "Signature" models for certian
players such as Coleman Hawkins & Corky Cochran but these mouthpieces were
only a bit more open than the 5*'s, perhaps a 6 facing. Later Link
introduced the "Super Tonemaster" model which was a variation on the
Tonemaster model. These were again slightly longer and had a more modern
chamber design with a slightly flatter baffle.
In the 1960's the company was sold and manufacturing was moved to Florida.
At this time the mouthpieces being made were the Super Tonemaster. The new
company decided at this time to start offering more open facings. From
this time onwards you could get Links in 6 -10 facings with each numbered
facing being available in a * marking (slightly more open) as well.
These are the original open Links that most people want. (even if they
think that they want a New York...) AND this is also why so many of the
New York models have been refaced, in order for them to be more open.
These Super Tonemasters were made in Florida until the late 1970's when
the company was purchased by the Babbitt Co.The modern Links are still
cast in Florida and then faced in Elkhart Indiana where Babbitt is
located. These mouthpieces are stamped USA on the shank. Recently Babbitt
has introduced a New York model which is similar to the old New York
specifications which they offer alongside the standard Links.

Habe auch gestern noch eine Mail zu Hersteller geschickt, mal sehen was der dazu sagt!

Der Kunde sagte das alles ab 12 interessant für ihn wäre, ich weiß auch wie und was er damit spielen will, aber er ist ein Sammler und Jäger und besitzt um die 100 Saxophone und weit über 200 Mundstücke.

Einige seiner Schätze werden irgendwann bei mir im Shop angeboten werden.

Die offensten Modelle die ich je gesehen oder gespielt habe waren 12er Florida-Modelle.
Aus den 40ern habe ich auch allerdings schon originale 6* & 7* Tonemaster gesehen (War im Tisch eingraviert!!!).
Bei Berg Larsen habe ich ein originales 140/m/0 gesehen und gespielt. Offenere könnte es geben......
