Peter Ponzol Aluminum Vintage Model Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece. This model is precision machined from aluminum, hand-faced, and anodized for a beautiful gold color finish. The Vintage Model features a larger chamber with a lower baffle for a darker core tone with some edge. It is the darkest of the Ponzol mouthpiece models. The aluminum models have a lighter and sweeter tone than the stainless models.

Peter Ponzol has always been concerned about mouthpiece materials and how safe they are for a player to put in their mouth. Most metal mouthpieces on the market are made of brass or bronze alloys. Because these alloys can have any number of various metals and materials in the metal, they may not be safe to use unless properly plated. Chemicals used during the plating process are also not safe. As the plating wears on a mouthpiece, the player may be exposed to unsafe metals or metals they may be allergic to.

This model is made from aluminum and the surface is anodized. This is a similar material and process used on high-end cookware. It is a durable and lightweight mouthpiece.
