Sorry, I do not know one small bit of German but I thought I would say hi. I know that many of you know English, the rest can resort to Google translate. I would post from Google translate but it does not seem to understand the complexities of your language.

Reading the thread: Thank you all for your input. Thank you so much Saxhornet for the hard work on your review. I know these take a great deal of time and effort. Also I want to extend a thanks to Mike Duchstein Saxophon-Service for stocking my pieces in Berlin.



I will address a few things that came up in the thread.

1. I am sorry that USA prices are lower than in Europe. Please remember (putting aside the insane trade war started by everyone's favorite psychopath). American customers do not pay VAT or any type of import tax. My commitment to European players begins with the fact that I WILL NOT raise prices in 2019. I will not say the same for the US market. Prices there will likely increase.

2. I do not know where the idea that the alto Rift is no longer made. The Rift is one of my most popular alto pieces and is still in full production.

3. The Tribute and Mosaic are machined by Theo, I do the facing and manage the remainder of the finishing work. They are plated to RHOS standards. However, a few players have nickel alergies. For these players I do have raw brass pieces and once I find someone to plate for me one can easily overplate nickle...such as all otto link metal pieces. They are underplated (like most gold pieces) with nickel. I also can make different sizes from raw brass versions.

By the way, there is also an LTD version of both pieces. They have higher baffles than the original. The Mosaic LTDis a beast with punch and power. It still retains its dark core but can roar. The Tribute LTD is closer to an EB style metal Link. Extra punch and cut.

4. I had to laugh at the post that at least google translates as "He who does not advertize dies". Well...Im not dead yet, and other than my web page I have never spent a penny on advertising. Phil-Tone has been here over 15 years. I may post occasional product announcements but they will not all be in capital letters and huge fonts. I do not send out promo emails or news letters...all that is really just not my style.

5. Aside from customizing and refacing pieces my models are also capable of changes. Pieces can all be customized (brighter, darker etc..).

Dear Phil,

welcome to Saxophonforum, good to have another expert here. You mentioned LTD versions of your metal pieces with more baffle, could you explain a bit more on these? I understand that there is no trial period for the LTD metal pieces, but in case a LTD piece would feel too bright, would it be possible to lower the baffle to an individual degree, shipping the MPC back and forth?

@saxhornet test report was substantial and helpful in order to get a first Idea about your mouthpieces.

Naja...irgendwie muss man sein Zeug ja verkaufen Ich fand das alles nicht so überzeugend, als dass ich mir ein MP für 300 € + antue....gar nicht.

 

Was Dur Dir leisten willst steht doch gar nicht zur Diskussion.

Ich finde es bemerkenswert, wenn @saxhornet sich die Mühe macht diese hier in D nicht leicht verfügbaren Mundstücke zu testen und ausgiebig darüber zu schreiben.

Da steckt einiges an Arbeit drin, was ich nicht selbstverständlich finde. Danke Florian! (@saxhornet )

Für uns Saxer nur hilfreich, zumal es auch Foristen gibt, die sich nicht vor 300,-€ scheuen.

Und dann finde ich es klasse, wenn sich der Hersteller hier substantiell einbringt...wertet das Thema nur auf,

Ich bin jederzeit bereit, ca. 1/4. meiner monatlichen Rente für ein Mundstück auszugeben, wenn ich damit mehr Spaß an meinem Hobby habe.

 

Das Philtone wurde hier ja schon vor 3 Jahren vorgestellt.....also alles halb so wild und sicherlich nicht der Knaller....wenn auch vielleicht ein gutes MP.....ja, für mich zu teuer!

 

Das haben wir jetzt alle verstanden

 

Es kann durchaus sinnvoll sein, am Instrument 1000 € zu sparen und stattdessen für ein Mundstück 300 € auszugeben.

 

Aus meiner Erfahrung heraus kann ich sagen, dass man keinesfalls am Lehrer sparen sollte.

 

Sehe ich auch so, ich hab beim Sax 1.600 gespart (fühlte sich gleich"wertig" an) und dachte mir gönnst: du dir noch ein schönes MPC (ich hatte da ein schönes Metall-Gottsu im Blick) - Nur, jetzt läuft mein altes MPC super... (ist aber noch zu früh für gültige Aussagen).

I am thrilled to hear that plated versions of the metal pieces may become available. Great news for the sax players among the 65 million Europeans with nickle allergy...

Ach, ja, es war ein 8er und diese Kragenweite ist mir inzwischen zu groß - auch wenn es leichtgängig ist.
