The film Rocky has a great uplifting theme and fits the run in the streets with all his local supporter’s finishing at the top of the 72 steps in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

 

Mein Filmmusik-Gott bleibt Morricone, und das vor allem in den Nicht-Western.
Seine Musik prägt die Szenen und leistet sich manchmal auch kühne atonale Ausflüge.
Zum Beispiel in "State of grace". Grandios!




(Nebenbei: Ist auch ein klasse Film.)

Hier noch ein Film, bei dem mich die Musik begeistert. Einerseits passt sie zu den Szenen im Film, andererseits kommt das Stück aus Schottland und hat so gar nichts mit den kanadischen Wäldern oder Indianern zu tun.

Aber irgendwie "schimmert" sein berühmtes Mundharmonika-Motiv auch hier durch.

Quizfrage:
Welcher weltbekannte Filmregisseur hat sich vehement gegen den Einsatz von externer,
nicht aus der Filmhandlung oder dem Filmbild kommender Musik ausgesprochen. ?

Er blieb sich allerdings auch nicht 100% treu.

Sorry, ich muss mich korrigieren.

Ich schlage wegen Bresson im Netz nach und lese, das der Regisseur,
den ich im Sinn hatte, sogar einen "eigenen" Komponisten für seine Soundtracks hatte.

Aber beide, Robert Bresson und der Gesuchte,
teilten sich 1983 den Preis für die beste Regie eines großen Festivals.

Die ganze Dogma-Schule hatte das doch in ihren Anforderungen. Also zum Beispiel Lars von Trier.

Apparently the Gael was added later to the Mohican soundtrack, which works very well I think.

I know the writer Dougie Maclean for his song Caledonia.(aka Scotland)

 

Geniale Musik! So richtig lässig und entschleunigend...halt Urlaub am Meer. Kopf und Gemüt werden richtig frei.

 

I went a couple of times to Caledonia. One day i was in a pub in Inverness... and was singing this song with the locals. Fortunately they did not complain to much about my singing (i am better on the sax)... great day with some good friends, good meal of sea food together with some single malt and music.
Songs like these work also in the highlands, when you look over a Loch from the top of a Ben, or at an old castle, or.... They belong to the country...
I agree, the song "the Gael" fits to the movie, but in my mind I see the highlands of caledonia .

Great story Jess, while you were in Inverness did you visit Culloden . It’s a tourist spot now, but back in 1746 it was the scene of a famous battle with the English.
As it happens I was in Inverness in early 2000 and I made a short film and as we are on a film thread I will try to find it. I think it’s on an old laptop.

 

A short film i made about a Scottish freedom fighter William Wallace and how the English murdered him. Most people know him as BRAVEHEART.

Yes sir, of course. Unfortunately the Scottish lost battle, freedom and country. Another example that war does not lead to anything good.
