Ja, einfach die paar Klicks auf der Seite. Super easy. Jede Menge Bestätigungen bekommen und ruckzuck war das Heft da. Ich denke da lohnt ne Sammelbestellung wirklich nicht, zumal da dann sicher das Zoll-Geschäft wieder stressiger wird, wenn der Warenwert höher ist.

habe ich auch gesehen, und mir gefällt die Erklärung und die Vorgehensweise. Ich hoffe nur, dass ich es einmal annähernd umsetzen kann. Mir sagt der Ansatz zu. Bin gespant auf die nächsten Clips und werde dieses Jahr mir bestimmt das Hip Licks auch noch zulegen.

das heft ist super. wird auch dementsprechend verbloggt ...

mir gefällt vor allem, wie sensbel die diger gemacht sind. selbst wenn man "nur" durchübt, klingt es immer gut,und schärft enorm den hörsinn - da machen die schallplatten oder konzertbesuche gleich doppelt so viel spaß !

 

Habe gestern auch meine "Hüft-Salzlecken" aus USA erhalten. Mit dabei die Etüden 1-3 (obwohl ich Phrasing 3 bestellt und bezahlt hatte? Ist aber auch ok.)

Kam mit der Post "zollamtlich behandelt".

Keine weiteren Kosten (Zoll, Einfuhrumsatz oder so)

Für alle, die iRealB nutzen:
Ich habe alle 14 Tracks von " Hip Licks" in iRealB eingegeben um die Licks
auch in anderen Tempi als die beiden vorgegebenen zum Playback üben zu können.

Was ist denn da jetzt der Unterschied? Ist doch nach wie vor eine Veröffentlichung sämtlicher Tracks von Fishman, wenn man nur die passende Software hat?

Vielleicht möchte jemand noch die Buchseiten einscannen und in einem ungewöhnlichen Format zur Verfügung stellen?

Dann braucht das Buch wenigstens keiner mehr zu kaufen. Klärt mich auf, wenn ich spinne.

Akkordprogressionen sind nicht urheberrechtlich geschützt.
Deswegen gibt es in iRealB ja auch keine Melodien zu den
Tracks.
Oder die ganzen Übe-CD's mit Akkordfolgen von Jazzstandards.
Solange die Melodie nicht auftaucht ist alles legal.
Außerdem ist in dem IRealB Format ja nicht die Originalaufnahme
von Greg Fishman enthalten.

ja, aber die auf dem Klavier so verteilten Töne, aus denen eine Melodie zusammengezimmert wird, eigentlich auch, oder?

 

Um was es hier geht, sind chromatisch rückende II-V-I Verbindungen oder Maj Akkorde und solches Zeug. Deine Bestürzung über den vermeintlichen Diebstahl einzigartiger Ideen ist also völlig unbegründet. Die Noten muss man trotzdem kaufen und für die Datein bin ich ArnoB sehr dankbar, denn sie bereichern das Buch für mich.

I see that you've taken the chords, the CD track titles and the book title, as well as my name, and typed them in for iRealB and posted them for others to download.

When I wrote the book, I assumed that people might do this type of thing for personal use. However, I didn't think that anyone would be posting it for everyone else to download.

Of course, I know that chord progressions cannot be copyrighted. As long as it's just the chords and none of the licks themselves, it's all right with me. However, using my name and my book title to identify the download does concern me a bit.

Since you're using my name and book title to identify the download, it's coming up very high in the google searches for my book title and name, (search: "Hip Licks for Saxophone" + "Greg Fishman").

I'm concerned that people will click on the link to the file you've created and see this i-RealB version of the chords from my book, and that they will not see how to purchase the book.

Or, perhaps they'll think the book is a free download. I've already had several people contact me today to tell me about this.

I'm not a large corportation, but a one person operation, a saxophonist and teacher. I've dedicated my life to music, and to sharing what I've learned with others, through my books. This is how I make my living and support my family.

If you can do me one small favor, I'd feel a lot better about this whole thing. Could you please list my website at the bottom (or top) of your song list on the iRealB site?

I'm glad that you liked the book enough that you've taken the time to enter all of the chord progressions into iRealB. I spent many years developing the book and carefully considering the order in which the chords would be presented.

Hi Arno,

I know that you only posted the chords from the book because of your enthusiasm for the book. I know that no harm was intended, and that you were simply trying to share something good with other players.

There's no way you would have known about the way it might have an impact on my google search results.

I hope that I did not make you upset with my letter, but wanted to share my thoughts and concerns with you, so you could see things from my perspective.

I do very much appreciate your listing my website.

I know that at any time, anyone in the world who has the book could do the same thing as you've done, but I thank you for understanding my position.

I have no problem with people using iReal book, though I do think it's still much better with the real rhythm section, even if you were to slow them down with a program like transcribe or amazing slow downer. Those programs will also let you create custom loops.

I will keep your idea of having the chords available as an iRealb file in mind for the future. If there is enough customer demand for it, and I can find a way to have some degree of control over it, perhaps I'll offer it in the future.
